Tietz Family Farm
Tietz Family Farms is a family owned and operated farm located in the fertile Rock River Valley just outside Watertown, Wisconsin. Our specialty is delicious, homegrown popcorn. If that’s not tasty enough, we’re also one of the area’s largest producers of seasonal, fresh produce, pork and eggs.
Eight Generations and Still Farming Strong!
In 1843, Frederick Tietz left his homeland in Germany to escape religious persecution. He settled in the fertile rolling hills of Dodge County, part of the Northwest Territory. The area eventually became known as Lebanon and became part of the State of Wisconsin. After settling in the area, his father Michael immigrated as well to help Frederick, who married and raised a family, establishing a successful farm and homestead. Eight generations later, their land and family continues to be an integral component of Tietz Family Farms with his great-great-great-great-great grandchildren living and farming this same land. Sustainability is not just a word to us—it’s a way of life.
Our Farm Today
Today, Tietz Family Farms owns and operates nearly 400 acres and produces Tietz Family Farms world famous popcorn as well as a vast array of seasonal produce. In addition, we raise our own hogs and chickens, producing fresh humanely raised pork and eggs.
We market our fresh produce, popcorn, pork and eggs primarily at our on-farm store as well as at local Farmer’s Markets in Oconomowoc, Watertown, Madison, West Allis and Hartford, Wisconsin.
Our on-farm store has limited hours weekly but store hours increase dramatically during September and October with our large fall market, which has been an area favorite for decades.
We would like to thank all of our customers for their continued support and look forward to serving you in the future.
Sincerely,
Tietz Family Farms
