How do you POP popcorn?

Tietz Family Farms' Popcorn can be popped on a stove top with oil, in a hot air popper, a microwave bowl, or with a commercial popper.
Here is how to pop the OLD FASHIONED WAY.
1. Pour 1-2 TBSP oil in a 3 quart pan and heat on medium-high to 400 degrees.
2. Place 2 kernels in the pan. When they pop, your oil is ready.
3. Add enough popcorn to cover the bottom of the pan. Shake gently to evenly spread the oil.
4. Once the popcorn starts popping, gently shake the pan moving it over the burner. Cover the pan, but keep the lid of your pan slightly ajar to release the steam for crispier flakes.
5. When the popping begins to slow, remove the pan from the stove top. The hot oil will still pop the remaining kernels.
6. Season and ENJOY!

What is the best way to store popcorn?

Store popcorn kernels in an air-tight glass or plastic container that has a tight-fitting
lid. Loss of moisture is one of the
reasons for “old maids”.

Do the different colored kernels pop colored popcorn?

No they do not. All popcorn kernels pop either white or in varying shades of yellow. White varieties tend to be lighter, crisper and smaller popped flakes. Yellow varieties are heartier textured, chewier popped flakes. Every color has subtle taste and texture differences that you do not find in the commercially produced varieties.

How do I make popcorn?

Our popcorn can be popped on a stove top with oil, using an oil popper (Stir Crazy or Whirly Pop), hot air popper, commercial popcorn machine, or a microwave popper.
